  • Undergraduate Student Checklist

    ONCE ADMITTED

    • Activate your NetID and Northwestern University email address (instructions included in the welcome packet)
    • Submit immunization materials to Northwestern University Health Services (requirement does not apply to online students)

    If you plan to apply for loans, be sure to:

    • Submit the FAFSA at fafsa.ed.gov
    • Complete the University Aid Application available in CAESAR
    • Print and return the Verification of Employer Education Assistance Form
    • Contact the Chicago Office of Financial Aid with questions at 312-503-8722 or financial-aid-chicago@northwestern.edu
    • You should receive a response from the Office of Financial Aid in three to five weeks. If registration is open, feel free to register for classes in CAESAR at this time.

    If your employer offers tuition reimbursement, be sure to:


    ONCE REGISTRATION OPENS 

    • Review the available courses for registration by going to the Undergraduate section of the website and clicking the “Course Schedule” link on the left-hand navigation
    • Login to CAESAR with your NetID and password to:
    • Update your emergency contact information and remove your registration hold by following the steps detailed here.
    • Register for courses

    TWO WEEKS FROM START OF QUARTER

    • Order textbooks online at abbothall.bncollege.com
    • View the online asynchronous orientation session
    • Login to your course Caesar site to review syllabi and other important information
    • Connect with student groups through the Student Advisory Board (sab@northwestern.edu)
    • View and pay your tuition online following the quarterly billing schedule
    • View campus maps and parking information for on-campus classes
    • Obtain a WildCARD. Online students should reference the Undergraduate Student Handbook for instructions on how to obtain a WildCARD.
    • Familiarize yourself with the policies and resources outlined on the SPS website and in the Undergraduate Student Handbook
    • Start taking advantage of SPS Career Services Resources
    • Thank you recommenders and let them know you’ve been admitted to Northwestern University
    • If you have any additional questions or concerns, set up an appointment with an Academic Adviser by calling 847-491-5612
