Kristin Byrnes "Having researched several options and locations to take a course, I decided on Northwestern and I can confidently say that I am completely satisfied with the results. Throughout the five week course, we covered all the major topics of the SHRM Learning System. To help focus our study our instructor, Kathleen Seebert, guided us in understanding the most important items. In addition to lecture, we were also able to have thoughtful discussions, review case studies, and take a practice exam to address any areas that required further development. Kathleen offered useful insight into the exam and question structure, so there were no surprises on test day.

I was able to be implement the knowledge gained in the class immediately into my day-to-day work. Another notable benefit of the class was how it changed my thinking to that of business strategy, which is a focus throughout the program. Overall, I feel that my job performance improved and I am now more confident in my decision making, thanks to the excellent foundation gained through this course and my subsequent certification. With that, I recommend this class to future SHRM-CP candidates as it will effectively prepare you not only for the actual exam, but set you up for success in your current position and future career goals."

— Kristin Byrnes, SHRM-CP, Human Resources Manager, The James Hotel

"The preparation course at Northwestern was instrumental to my success in passing the certification exam. I enjoyed being able to read the competency books and then participate in classroom discussions about the subject material. I believe the certification has expanded my HR knowledge and I would definitely recommend the SHRM Learning System to other SHRM-CP candidates."

— Kimberly Kerbrat, MHRM, SHRM-CP, Human Resources Manager, Om of Medicine
