Supervision of Police Personnel • On-site or Online
Supervision of Police Personnel (SPP) prepares supervisors who have had little or no formal training for the unique working environment of law enforcement. Whether participating in the on-site or online course, all students learn motivational principals, communication, ethics, professionalism, planning, decision-making, leadership, community image, and more from nationally renowned police professionals who combine extensive personnel and management experience with solid academic credentials. All new supervisors or officers who are soon-to-be-promoted, officers who seek promotion, or experienced supervisors who have not benefited from formal supervisory instruction or development are encouraged to attend.

Supervision of Public Safety Personnel
NEW! Supervision of Public Safety Personnel (SPSP) is a collaboration between NUCPS and Northeastern Illinois Public Safety Training Academy (NIPSTA) and offers first-line public safety personnel a solid foundation for leadership development. The dynamic, two-week program provides participants with strong first-line supervisory skills, which are essential for successfully mitigating emergency incidents. Effectively responding to a crisis often requires a combined effort among leadership from multiple public safety professions. This course responds to that need and encourages public safety supervisors to collectively study and embrace leadership concepts in a collaborative manner. Upon successful program completion, participants will be well equipped to immediately apply the course's progressive concepts within their own organizations.
