Author’s note: I have had a long career as a nonfiction writer of prize-winning books about the midlife, age, aging, and ageism. I write and blog for many mainstream outlets, including the NY Times, Ms., American Scholar, American Prospect, Nation, Atlantic.com, Silver Century.
