Learning Through Service: Engaging Lifelong Learners in Volunteerism
Mioshi Moses, Vice President of Volunteer Programs at AARP Foundation, will explore the evolving landscape of volunteerism among older adults, focusing on benefits of service particular to older adults and the best practices for engaging older volunteers. Drawing on years of experience in leading volunteer initiatives at AARP Foundation, Mioshi will discuss how to engage members with volunteer opportunities, and the unique motivations and expectations that shape their involvement. Whether you are an Institute staff or a volunteer leader, this presentation will equip you with the tools to engage volunteers across your OLLI.
Mioshi Moses serves as Vice President of Volunteer Programs at AARP Foundation, where she spearheads efforts to engage one of the largest cohorts of older adult volunteers in the world. With extensive experience in social impact and nonprofit strategy, Mioshi has dedicated her career to enhancing the quality of life for Americans through innovative programs and initiatives. She is committed to aligning organizations and partnerships with strategic priorities to expand access to resources for underserved populations. Passionate about bridging generational divides, Mioshi champions the active participation of older adults in shaping initiatives that directly impact their lives. Before joining AARP Foundation, she held leadership roles at Genesys Works, Children’s National Health System, Leadership Greater Washington, Booz Allen Hamilton, and Ernst & Young. Mioshi earned her Juris Doctor from The George Washington University Law School and her Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Spelman College.
