Congratulations to 2021 SPS Graduates!

The sun shone brightly on the Evanston lakefront on Saturday, June 12 as Northwestern University School of Professional Studies celebrated the class of 2021 in the gleaming and spacious Ryan Fieldhouse. Hundreds of socially distanced guests cheered on this year’s graduates.

In his address, SPS Dean Thomas Gibbons shared his congratulations and encouraged graduates to be proud of their accomplishments while dealing with a worldwide pandemic. 2021 graduate Jonathan Fan (MS in Data Science) gave the student address. Kaitlin Fahey, MA in Public Policy and Administration alum, Founding Partner & CEO of Magnify Strategies, and former Chief of Staff for Senator Tammy Duckworth delivered the keynote address.

Each student then crossed the stage to receive their degree and congratulations from Dean Gibbons. The ceremony ended with one of SPS’s favorite Convocation traditions. A bagpiper played to close the event, playing from the stage this year due to the pandemic, as graduates processed out of the Fieldhouse amid smiles and cheers from those in attendance.
