Veteran Broadcaster Curt Menefee, MPPA '22 to Address SPS Graduates

Veteran studio and sports broadcaster Curt Menefee, MPPA '22, will deliver the keynote address at the 2025 convocation ceremony for the Northwestern School of Professional Studies.

Menefee is best known for hosting "FOX NFL Sunday," America's most-watched NFL pregame show for nearly three decades. The program was awarded the Sports Emmy for Outstanding Weekly Studio Show in 2023 and was inducted into the National Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame in 2019. Since January 2024, he also co-anchors "Good Day New York" on FOX 5 alongside Rosanna Scotto.

With a broadcasting career spanning over 30 years, Menefee has become a household name in sports journalism, known for his engaging commentary and in-depth analysis. His impressive journey includes roles as a sideline reporter, play-by-play announcer, sports anchor and sports director at stations across the country. Since joining FOX Sports in 1997, he has hosted various major events, including the UEFA Champions League Final and the U.S. Open Championship, and has anchored FOX's inaugural coverage of UFC main events.

Throughout his career, Menefee has received numerous accolades including the Associated Press Award for Best Sports Reporter in New York and four Katie Awards for Best Sportscast and Best Sports Special. In 2016, he published his book "Losing Isn't Everything: The Untold Stories and Hidden Lessons Behind the Toughest Losses in Sports History," a thought-provoking look at the lessons learned from sports defeats, highlighting the human spirit and resilience.

Following the nationwide racial injustices in 2020, Menefee wanted to take action and pursued his master's degree in public policy and administration at Northwestern University School of Professional Studies, graduating in 2022. He holds a bachelor's degree from Coe College, where he currently serves as a trustee.

The SPS Convocation ceremony will be held Saturday, June 14, 2025, at 3:30 p.m. in Ryan Fieldhouse (2333 Campus Drive, Evanston). A live-stream option will also be available. Please visit the Convocation page for more details about the event.
