CHICAGO - On October 24, 2018, Northwestern University School of Professional Studies (SPS) hosted a lunchtime table talk featuring Dr. Geoffrey Anguyo from the Kigezi Healthcare Foundation (KIHEFO), a not-for-profit NGO dedicated to community development in the Kabale District of southwest Uganda. Dr. Anguyo is the founder and executive director of KIHEFO.
The lecture was the second event in SPS's new Lunchtime Table Talk series, a monthly lecture and Q&A series, that highlights the interdisciplinary research and conversation occurring at the School of Professional Studies. The lectures are free and open to Northwestern University staff, students, and faculty, as well as the general public.
During the table talk, Dr. Anguyo spoke to the innovative solutions that he and his team have created to address the reality that disease, poverty, and lack of knowledge are integrated problems that affect communities in sub-Saharan African countries. You can read more about recent collaborations between KIHEFO and Northwestern's Master of Science in Global Health program. Students in the program have the opportunity to complete their practicums in Uganda at KIHEFO.
