Investigating Social Network Structures Using Graph Technologies and Analytics

CHICAGO - On August 23, 2019, Northwestern University School of Professional Studies hosted a lunchtime table talk on the ways in which data found on social media, such as friends, relations, and localities, can be analyzed and utilized. Graph technologies and analytics are powerful tools that can drive contextual insights for data used in research, social initiatives, and business solutions. This presentation walked attendees through the essential characteristics of a social network and their representations using the graph model. The talk also examined the data structures, techniques, algorithms, and platforms used to analyze, discover, and mine such networks.
