I am a Senior Instructional Technologist at Northwestern School of Professional Studies and a part-time filmmaker. I gained an appreciation for technology, design, and learning while growing up near Detroit, where my parents and many of my extended family work in the automotive industry and local school systems. Summers were spent working in the wilderness of the Upper Peninsula, where I learned construction and outdoor survival skills. My propensity for creating things manually, combined with a passion for visual arts and communication, has led to a fulfilling career in multimedia storytelling, often developing experiences, environments, and interfaces that promote critical thinking and collaboration.
I have both a BA and an MS in Communications from Grand Valley State University. I currently reside in Edgewater with my wife and some exotic houseplants. I believe that challenging oneself is important to personal and professional growth and enjoy working on crazy projects with like-minded riffraff. I would also like to find a better thesaurus.
