Three MSIS Students Win Fifty for the Future Award

Illinois Technology Foundation

Three students from Northwestern University School of Professional Studies’s master's in information systems program (MSIS) were recently honored in the Illinois Technology Foundation’s Fifty for the Future annual recognition program. This year, Danielle Kent, Orlando Sirbas and Christopher Wrenn were among 50 college-age students selected.

The Illinois Technology Foundation is a grassroots, volunteer-based nonprofit organization dedicated to the development and retention of IT talent in Illinois. The foundation’s Fifty for the Future program brings together academia and industry to support students across Illinois universities who aspire to make meaningful contributions to the field of technology and advance their careers. The foundation operates a 500-member Student Technology Club, and Educator Series and a variety of student support services.

“Danielle, Orlando and Chris were outstanding students of mine at Northwestern,” said William Wass, an instructor in the MSIS program and Chairman and CEO of the Illinois Technology Foundation. In 2015 the foundation is also offering a one-year intensive training and mentoring program  to winners of the Fifty for the Future award, which both Kent and Sirbas intend to take advantage of.
