Public Policy and Administration Certificate Program
This certificate prepares students to manage at the local, state, and federal levels, and in the NGO and nonprofit sectors, or to enhance policy evaluation and innovate transformative public policy solutions. For students who have completed the Public Policy and Administration master’s degree, the certificate provides an opportunity to specialize in another area, or explore their own area of specialization in more depth. Classes can be completed online or on campus. Applicants must possess a graduate degree in order to be considered for this program.

Applicants to this certificate program must hold a graduate degree from an accredited U.S. college, university or its foreign equivalent. A competitive graduate record that indicates strong academic ability is required, though applicants need not have extensive academic experience in public policy. Work experience in the public sector is desirable but not necessary.

To earn a certificate, students complete any four courses of their choice from the MA in Public Policy & Administration program. To receive the most benefit from the certificate, it is recommended that students focus their classes in an area that corresponds to the MPPA specializations of Global Policy, Public Administration, or Public Policy. See the course schedule for a current list of offerings.
Please note that courses completed in the certificate program cannot be transferred to the corresponding graduate degree.
This certificate program can be completed on campus, online, or a combination of both.
