The School of Professional Studies is a proud partner in Northwestern's Prison Education Program (NPEP), a University initiative that provides a high-quality liberal arts education to incarcerated students in Illinois in partnership with Oakton Community College and the Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC). By expanding access to college-level courses for a systematically disadvantaged population, NPEP strives for transformation through education by creating a community of scholars behind bars, lowering recidivism rates, and opening doors to the wider world after incarceration.
