Program Courses

To earn the Leadership Certificate, students must complete all three courses offered in this program.

Fall quarter classes will commence on September 16. Previously scheduled on-campus courses will be conducted remotely for the entirety of the Fall quarter. Updated information for affected courses can be found in the Schedule Notes for each course.


LEAD_ART 204-0 : Developing People and Teams


Description

Organizational leaders do not achieve their goals by themselves. Effective leaders develop people in a way that promotes individual growth, while improving business outcomes. Students will look at individual development including coaching, mentoring and motivation theory. Team development will be explored through the topics of facilitation and collaboration. Participants will also have the opportunity to assess their personal style of conflict resolution.

Required Course Preparation:

Students should complete the assessment included in StrengthsFinder 2.0 and email their results to the instructor, Alyssa Dickman, at adickman@northwestern.edu prior to the first day of class. Learning activities will be tailored to each course based on assessment results.

Registered students can access their online course site here. An activated NetID and password is required for login. *Please note: It may take up to 24-hours for registered students to be added to the online course platform.


Additional Information:

This is a two-day course offered on consecutive Saturdays during the Winter and Summer quarters.

 

This course is graded on a satisfactory/unsatisfactory basis.
