Summer Writers' Conference
July 21-22, 2023 | Online
The Northwestern University Summer Writers’ Conference is back, and online again so you can join us from anywhere in the world.
This year’s schedule offers presentations taught by Northwestern faculty for writers of all genres and backgrounds. Learn how to push personal narratives beyond “navel gazing.” Hear from award-winning authors on how to make your readers cry, shudder, and laugh. Bring your writing alive on the page through scent. Create conflict for your characters to keep readers turning pages. Get pro tips on the art of interviewing, writing cover letters for literary journal submissions, and assembling short story collections for contests and agent queries. You can also schedule an individual manuscript consultation with conference faculty.
The Northwestern University Summer Writers’ Conference is a wonderful opportunity to seek a fuller understanding of the craft—and business—of writing.
The conference is hosted by the Northwestern University School of Professional Studies MA in Writing and MFA in Prose and Poetry programs.
Registration is open now throughout the duration of the conference.
Keep up with the event on Facebook and Instagram.
