Description
In this class we will focus on musical theatre audition techniques. You will work towards mastering the skills and materials you will need to successfully navigate the audition process. This will include creating the audition book, understanding and applying professional entertainment industry best practices, and investigating your identity (as it informs your casting 'type').
The class format requires you to audition each session; by the end of the quarter, you'll have gotten real-time experience with new audition repertoire for both in-person and virtual scenarios.
Materials: Course packet, Sheet music (both paper and digital formats), access to self-taping equipment. $26-50

This course does not prioritize seniors during Summer Session.
Labs: 3 sessions required per student scheduled at will with Prof Dehnert
Candidates should have taken at least one class prior in Music Theatre performance techniques, as well as having taken Theatre 256 - Musicianship for Actors or an equivalent. Permission numbers will be allotted following a brief interview.
