Advanced Graduate Public Policy Certificate

Learn the factors in public decision-making and policy formulation by honing your analytical skills and increasing your theoretical and practical knowledge in the field. Students in the Public Policy Certificate program are able to evaluate competing demands and lead toward innovative and transformative public policy solutions. Applicants must possess a graduate degree in order to be considered for this program.

Admission for the Advanced Graduate Public Policy Certificate

Applicants to this certificate program must hold a graduate degree from an accredited U.S. college, university or its foreign equivalent. A competitive graduate record that indicates strong academic ability is required, though applicants need not have extensive academic experience in public policy. Work experience in the public sector is desirable but not necessary.

Public Policy Required Courses

To earn a certificate, students must complete the following four courses:

MPPA 407 Scope and Theory of Public Policy

and

Any three courses in the Public Policy Specialization of the MA in Public Policy & Administration program

Please note that courses completed in the certificate program cannot be transferred to the corresponding graduate degree.

This certificate program can be completed on campus or online.
