Build Skills for Career Success in Global Healthcare

After successful completion of the Global Healthcare Delivery certificate, students will be able to:

  • Work effectively in a health-related industry within highly resource-limited settings
  • Navigate the business and legal/regulatory aspects of health-related industries around the world
  • Contribute to the improvement of health outcomes and systems within low and middle-income countries
  • Evaluate and measure health outcomes
  • Secure funding for global health initiatives and implement global health business practices
  • Evaluate and navigate the cultural and ethical considerations inherent in global health contexts
  • Demonstrate cultural humility through respectful engagement with diverse stakeholders and communities to address complex global heath challenges

Global Healthcare Delivery Curriculum

Students are required to complete the following four courses to earn the certificate: 

  • MSGH 405-DL Foundations of Global Health
  • MSGH 417-DL Global Health Systems
  • Two from
    • MSGH 410-DL Research Methods
    • MSGH 419-DL Global Bioethics
    • MSGH 454-DL Global Health Management & Strategy
    • MSGH 460-DL Planetary Health: Health in the Anthropocene

Applying Credit to the MS in Global Health Program

Students that are interested in the option of applying their credit to Northwestern's MS in Global Health program must submit an online application and submit all required application materials.

Students that elect to apply to a master's program before completing a graduate certificate will be able to count completed courses toward the applicable master's degree, but there will be no certificate conferred.
