Physical Therapy Linkage
The Northwestern Pre-Physical Therapy - Certificate Scholars Program (NUPPT – CSP) is an early application program to the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) in the Department of Physical Therapy & Human Movement Sciences at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.
The program is designed for high-achieving Northwestern Post-Baccalaureate students with a demonstrated commitment to a career as a physical therapist.
NUPPT—CSP offers:
- Early application (Summer quarter before final year) to enter the DPT program at the Department of Physical Therapy & Human Movement Sciences in the fall quarter after completion of Post-Baccalaureate program.
- Direct advising and support from the Department of Physical Therapy & Human Movement Sciences in curricular and extracurricular activities.
- No standardized test scores (such as the GRE) are required.
- Submit two letters of recommendation instead of the typical three.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of the program?
The NUPPT—CSP program provides students the opportunity to apply and receive an early decision to a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program while completing their Pre-Physical Therapy prerequisites. If accepted, students can begin the DPT program the fall immediately following completion of the SPS program. However, NUPPT—CSP provides one specific pathway, and students may wish to consider applying to other DPT programs that may better align with their individual goals.
What happens if I'm not accepted?
Students will follow the standard physical therapy application process after completing the Pre-Physical Therapy program.
