New Student Orientation

Let's get started.

To help you acclimate to academic study at SPS, we have put together a brief orientation course. The orientation is designed to prepare for your first term by showing you how to find important resources, get accustomed to how your courses for the upcoming quarter will look and feel, and provide you with an opportunity to meet your fellow classmates and academic advisor.

 

This course lets you get familiar with the learning management system, Canvas, which all your courses use. Canvas is the web-based learning management system that Northwestern University uses to deliver course materials online. This is where you will access your course content, communicate with your instructor, submit your assignments and tests, receive feedback, view grades, and interact with classmates.

Enrolling in New Student Orientation

You can join the Orientation course for your program in either of two ways: by clicking the enrollment link below or by accepting the invitation sent to you by email titled "Course Invitation" from notifications@instructure.com.
