Whether online or on-ground, Supervision of Police Personnel (SPP) offers the strong foundational management skills that new law enforcement supervisors will utilize throughout their careers.

Our expert instructors and proven curriculum focus on understanding human behavior in order to successfully manage day-to-day work relationships with subordinates, superiors, and the public, as well as teaching new supervisors how to manage common challenges. Designed for officers with little or no formal supervisory training, SPP covers such critical topics as leadership and motivational principles, communication techniques, community skills, performance appraisals, employee discipline, and more.

  • SPP On-Ground is a two-week course and is offered in different cities and states throughout the calendar year.

  •  SPP Online (SPPO) is an asynchronous online course. It provides the same course objectives, curriculum, and instructors as SPP On-Ground. Due to the online environment, activities and assignments may vary from the on-ground course. The Executive Leadership Award

Supervision of Police Personnel is one of three courses required to be eligible for the NUCPS Executive Leadership Award. Students who successfully complete Supervision of Police Personnel, School of Police Staff & Command, and the Executive Management Program are encouraged to apply for this elite award.
