Please note that course schedules may be amended due to low enrollment, faculty availability, and/or other factors.
MCW online workshops (411-DL, 413-DL, and 461-DL) and all online literature classes consist of ten synchronous Zoom sessions held remotely at the time noted in the schedule. Attendance at these sessions is required.
MCW 413-0 : Fiction Workshop
Description
Students in the fiction workshops produce original work (generally two stories of 10-20 pp each, but this varies per instructor) that will be workshopped by the class, with at least one rewrite required by the end of the quarter. The workshop also includes craft discussions. Students will read and analyze the work of published writers by examining structure, point of view, style, dialogue, character development, and other elements of craft and technique to help hone their fiction-writing skills. (See syllabus for the focus of each particular workshop.)
