CIS 350-DL : Information Technology Strategy


Description

This course examines contemporary issues and research in the strategic use of information systems (IS) in organizations. It focuses on leveraging information technology for competitive advantage across various sectors. Students will explore information management as a critical resource, emphasizing the alignment between IS planning and strategic planning. Through case studies, the course covers key topics including strategic IS for competitive positioning, business-IT alignment, global IT issues and outsourcing, knowledge management systems, and strategic IS investment and evaluation. The curriculum aims to develop students' analytical skills in navigating the complex landscape of organizational IT. Upon completion, students will be equipped to contribute to high-level discussions and decision-making processes regarding the strategic application of information systems in professional settings.

This course is conducted completely online. A technology fee will be added to tuition.

Science distribution credit for BSGS, BPhil, or BPhilComm degrees. Scientific Inquiry and Quantitative Reasoning distribution credit for online Bachelor of Science degrees.
